No, in fact it’s made by NJ-based drug giant Wyeth. There was recent legislation proposed that states, “Wyeth and other makers of over-the-counter epinephrine inhalers for asthma will have to change their formulations by the end of 2010 to eliminate ozone-depleting chemicals. Under a new proposal, the Food and Drug Administration wants the changes so the inhalers don’t release pollutants called chlorofluorocarbons, or CFCs, the agency said in a statement. The proposal affects Primatene Mist, made by Wyeth, and other nonprescription inhalers used by millions of Americans.” However the inhalers themselves are still available in their current form until the changes take affect. There was a move to ban ALL epinephrine inhalers but Wyeth made the request to hold that motion until CFC-free versions are approved by the FDA.

We must all try to keep this product on the market. The ridicules notion that this is causing the O zone damage is ludicrous! I have asthma and have had those times when I could not get any air into my lungs. Panic stricken at night with no doctor, but go to CVS or Save mart and be able to get this over the counter was a life saver for me. Even the prescription brand I had did nothing to help my breathing. I don’t know what I am going to do if they or when they do take this off the market. The pills don’t work and neither does any of their new inhalers that have been modified to meet the O zone thing. All they did was take away what made them work so they don’t “Rescue” you at your time of need. And that is scarey.

That’s awful that you and others are selling Primatene Mist inhalers at these ridiculous prices. I have asthma, and I stocked up on these inhalers and I would NEVER EVER try and sell them for that kind of $$. Obviously you don’t know what its like to struggle for a breath of air, or panic because you don’t have medicine, a rescue inhaler. People DIE from asthma attacks, they suffer for hours and go into respiratory arrest. It’s a shame that you people are trying to make a huge profit off of something like this. You should be ashamed of yourself. But your day will come when you have to answer for your actions.
That’s why our world is the way it is today…greed, not humanity.
